We value and respect the privacy of our users and maintain confidentiality seriously in the personal data of the authors, co-authors, reviewers and editors that we have collected during the submission and editorial process in a fair and transparent way. The JKAHS operates under the principle of data minimization where only the minimal amount of personal data that is required to carry out a task is obtained. The names and email addresses used during the manuscript submission and publication in this journal and its website will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other parties 

Following are the privacy policies that we employ regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information within our Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to understand how we handle your personal information.

Type of personal data that we handle
The minimum personal data that are stored: full name, email address, affiliation (department, and institution) and country of residence. Optionally, the user can provide: salutation, gender, associated URL, phone number, reviewing interests, mailing address, ORCiD and a short biography. The data subjects have complete control of this data through their profile, and can request for it to be edited, changed and removed by contacting us via official email of the journal editor@jkahs.org.np

What do we do to keep that data secure?
We regularly backup our databases. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.

How do we use the data?
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD (if provided) in published articles which are displayed as part of the article and shared externally to indexes and databases.
