Journal of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (JKAHS) is an open access, indexed, peer-reviewed journal established in 2018 AD. Three issues (Jan-Apr, May-Aug and Sep-Dec) are published per year both online and in print with pISSN (2616-0064) and eISSN (2676-1327). 

1. PUBLISHER
JKAHS is an official publication of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) which is a government organization established on October 20, 2011 AD (2068/07/03 BS) by an act of parliament of Nepal with the objectives of promoting quality healthcare services, medical education and research in the remote area.

2. AIM & SCOPE 
The journal aims to provide a scientific forum for publishing and sharing the research findings, and clinical as well as professional experiences in the field of health sciences. The health sciences includes basic medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology,  and pharmacology), community health sciences, clinical sciences (internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology/obstetrics, pediatrics, anesthesiology, orthopedics, psychiatry, ENT, ophthalmology, radiology, dermatology, dentistry, forensic medicine), pharmay, public health, nursing and midwifery, herbal and holistic medicine, mental health and medical education. 
The types of article that JKAHS publishes include: original research article, theory or hypothesis article, review article, case report, short/brief communication, opinion, commentary, protocol, letter to editor, and editorial.  
The target readers of the journal are health science researchers and professionals. 

3. PUBLISHING FREQUENCY 
JKAHS is a triannual publication of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), Jumla, Nepal. Three issues (Jan-Apr, May-Aug and Sep-Dec) are published per year both online and in print. 

4. OPEN ACCESS POLICY
The JKAHS is a pure (diamond or platinum) open access journal that provide immediate and unrestricted access to all its published contents without any subscription or paywall barriers. 

The diamond or platinum open access enables a wider audience, including researchers, students, policymakers, and the general public, to benefit from scholarly findings without paying the article processing charge and subscription fee. 

5. COPYRIGHTS POLICIES AND LICENSING
The author(s) retain the copyright and the full publishing right without restriction under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) which allows readers to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) for any purpose, even commercially, provided the work is properly attributed. Author(s) grant the non-exclusive publishing right to the Journal of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (JKAHS). The publishing rights include the rights to publish, reproduce, distribute, include in indexes or search databases or other media in print or online. The JKAHS may require revisions to the manuscript before acceptance for publication or may choose not to publish it based on the judgement of the editors. Further, JKAHS might retract, withdraw, or publish a correction or other notice after publication, if such publication would be inconsistent with the good publication practices and associated guidelines set forth by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) (https://publicationethics.org/core-practices).

6. ABSTRACTING & INDEXING INFORMATION  
JKAHS has been indexed to the online database of Nepal Journal Online (NepJol), Nepal Medline (NepMed), and Google Scholar (GoogleScholar).

7. DIGITAL ARCHIVING POLICY
All published article of JKAHS are archieved in LOCKS as well as CLOCKS to ensure the long-term availability, integrity, and usability of the published work. 

8. PUBLICATION FEE/ ARTICLE PUBLISHING CHARGE (APC)
JKAHS does not charge any fee to the author(s)  for the submission, processing and publication of manuscripts online and in print.   

9. SOURCE OF FUNDING AND ADVERTISING POLICY
JKAHS does collect revene neither from authors as article processing charge (APC) nor from any advertisment. All the editors and reviewers are working for the journal voluntarily for the maintenance of the quality of each article published via the quality editorial workflow. Other direct as well as indirect operational cost of the jurnal like maintenance of the website of the journal, online or print publication is  beared by the  Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS)
